Public Transportation for Politicians, an Effective Way to Save Fuel

"Remove all benefits/perks and pay the entitlement in cash/account to each officer/babu/mantri. Then we will know the exact figure and these guys will also start saving," added another netizen.

According to many commentators, austerity and accountability measures should be imposed for political honchos and bureaucrats. One of the commentator sarcastically said, "Initiate bus service for ministers (it could be volvo, if their ego hurts) while parliament session is on. Apply the same to states also. This step alone will save a huge chunk of petrol." This in a way will bring less trouble to the ongoing traffic problems in many cities because any function where officials and leaders are present, often leads to a jam. Even during the time of elections, the lines of the official’s vehicles gets longer creating commotion to the masses and also wasted fuel only for their own personal gains. The problem of price hikes in fuels and other essential commodities can be curbed only if public transportation is employed as the compulsory mode of transportation for all the masses including the political leaders.
