Oldest Woman To Climb Mount Everest

Tamae Watanabe had begun mountain climbing since she was 28. In 1977, she climbed Mt. McKinley. Later she added Mont Blanc, Mount Kilimanjaro and Aconcagua in her achievements list. After her retirement, she returned to her hometown and in May 2002 and became the then oldest woman to climb Mount Everest. Ten years later, in May 2012, she broke her own record, when she, then aged 73, scaled Mount Everest again.
