Modi-Led Government To Present Maiden Union Budget On July 10

BANGALORE: As the Narendra Modi-led government prepares to present its maiden Union Budget on July 10, it will be a D-day for the newly flown Govt to deliver a market friendly budget as well as steer the economy through a bad phase.

The Budget session will run from July 7 to August 14. However, sources say the session could extend further.

A meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Parliamentary Affairs headed by Home Minister Rajnath Singh took the decision on Monday.

The new government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, will present the railway budget on July 8 and the country's economic survey on July 9.

The vote-on-account budget approved by the previous Parliament ends on July 31 and a new budget has to be in place before that date.

The UPA government had presented an interim budget for 2014-15 to Parliament on February 17.
