MAIT to Assist in Airlifting Consignments from China

Manufacturers Association of Information Technology (MAIT) announces that the government has decided to facilitate airlifting of consignments from China, despite the coronavirus outbreak.

The grouping welcomed the civil aviation ministry's decision to assist air lifting of China has reached out to MAIT for particular requirements from the IT and electronics manufacturing sector. MAIT has been closely functioning along with the industry and ministries to minimise the pressure created due to the China's coronavirus outbreak.

Moreover, MAIT has been working closely with its member companies to gather the required information that has been requested by the ministry. It's almost two weeks after the official reopening data, many factories in China remain closed till date which would cascade down to manufacturing in India as its raw material and equipment supply is disrupted.

On the advancement, Pankaj Mahindroo, Chairman of India Cellular and Electronics Association (ICEA) states that the government has taken necessary measures and the association is gathering the critical requirement of the industry. Furthermore, MAIT being the representative of the electronics and IT manufacturing in India, has taken the responsibility to voice out the industry's concern and facilitate continuous growth. Additionally, MAIT congratulates the Civil Aviation Ministry, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology and Finance Ministry for coming up with the plan and taking proactive initiatives to facilitate airlifting of consignments from China to keep away from any interruption in Indian manufacturing.
