Arranged marriages:

Marriage is usually the communion of two individuals who swear an oath to be caring and loyal towards one another till death does them apart.

If one goes by a study, Indian couples still like to consider their parents' choice for marriage as over 60 percent weddings are arranged.

Around 600 couples from metro cities in India participated in the study, conducted by an online matchmaking service Truly Madly.com.

According to the findings, 69 percent marriages are still arranged in comparison to only 31 percent love marriages.

Gold never runs out of fashion:

It is a well known fact that Indians have for centuries been obsessed with gold. The fundamental reasons for buying gold jewelry are rooted in Indian culture especially during weddings.

Lot of alteration has happened to our traditions but gold purchases on several special occasion has not changed much. Though the newer generation is not too fond of wearing or flaunting gold jewelry, the demand for gold jewelry has not gone down. Indians end up demanding 950 tonnes of gold every year.

In short, no special occasions are complete without this most-loved yellow metal.
