Bangalore: Inventing new things is not fun and games at all times. If something goes wrong or if the lady luck decides to look the other way for a fraction of second, your life may end up in a cruel twist of fate. Here is a list of inventors who, in the process of trying to make the lives of others better, lost their life by the hands of their own creation, as listed by HuffingtonPost and other sources.

Otto Lilienthal

Otto Lilienthal, famously known as Glider King, was an iconic German pioneer of aviation. He was the first person to make well-documented, repeated, successful gliding flights. And for his contributions to the field of aviation at such a crucial junction in history, he is often referred to as ‘The Father of Flight’.

He died of injuries sustained when his glider stalled and he was unable to regain control; falling from about 15 m (50 ft), he fractured his neck and succumbed to death.
