India To Strengthen Maritime Ties With Tanzanian


NEW DELHI: India today assured Tanzania that it would extend all cooperation to the Tanzanian Navy as the two countries seek to enhance their maritime ties.

"We have been working together with Tanzanian Navy for capacity building. We have assisted them in training and we look forward to taking this relationship forward by coming forth with whatever assistance and help the Tanzanian Navy needs," Navy chief Admiral Sunil Lanba said.

Visiting Tanzanian Navy chief Rear Admiral R S Laswai said both navies have common challenges within the Indian Ocean Rim.

"So since we have common challenges, we need to chart common policy, cooperation and strategy for one vision and one destiny," Rear Admiral Laswai told reporters after inspecting the Guard of Honour on the South Block lawns here.
