Goa Institute of Management Organizes an Ethical Hacking Conclave


Goa Institute of Management organized a highly interactive conclave on Ethical Hacking on 22nd September, 2018 in the IT city of Bengaluru that broached about the nuances of data management, artificial intelligence and human intellect that is coinciding with the ever evolving tech industry. The event was graced by Bhaskar Pramanik, former Chairperson of Microsoft India, and a panel discussion with Dr. Avik Sarkar, an Officer on Special Duty at NITI Aayog, Prof Rahul De, Hewlett-Packard Chair Professor, ICT for Sustainable Economic Development, IIM Bangalore, Anoop Nambiar, Partner with Deloitte Touché Tohmatsu India, Narasimha Murthy, Vice President of Cartesian Consulting, and Dr. Nitin Upadhyay, Chair & Head Centre of Innovation, Member Big Data Analytics Goa Institute of Management.

The keynote speech by Bhaskar Pramanik emphasized on the predictive technology and the evolution of tech based products and services so far. He touched upon the highly celebrated works by Aldous Huxley in the sixties to Harari today having brought into focus the ethical dimensions that these revolutions are capable to present in the near future. Taking the conversation further, the keynote speech also threw light on the noble essence of these technologies and how this evolution can lead to an ethical data management.

The panelist discussion further brought in insights revolving around the need for a proper asset management, and the duality of predictive & self-learning technology. With their respective understanding of the industry and their expertise, each panelist had something unique to add to this discussion that blends in the humanist and technologist approach and how to ensure a proper leveraging of the vast amount of data that can be proliferated into the market for better decisions making process.
