Food Grains that are Expensive in U.S. Considered as Cheap and Disdained in India

Bangalore: India has always failed to realize its importance, even if it’s in the field of ayurveda, yoga or talented workforce. We easily get attracted to the West and try to follow them, not giving much heed to our own resources and culture. This is once again proved in the case of food grains; the food which is considered as cheap and disdained in India is regarded as extra nutritious in the U.S. Here, we find these grains in abundance, but they are ignored.

Most of the foods which are considered as a nutritious and expensive in the western countries are offered at a low-price in India. These kinds of food are taken mostly by the impoverished section of people reports Chidanand Rajghatta for TNN.
On the contrary, these are the most wanted cereals and coarse grains in U.S. and so it is charged around 500 times more than Indian price, which is supplied to its poor people under the food security legislation.
