Five Bills in a Limbo at the End of Modi's One Year


BENGALURU: Prime Minister Narendra Modi sent a promising message in his ‘letter to the nation,’ having completed his first year in office. Modi had systematically addressed the challenges laid in front of him as he assumed office.

The NDA government claims to have passed 46 bills in the Parliament within one year, as reported by Purba Das of Business Insider. Yet, few of the crucial bills are left in a state of limbo, here they go:

Land Bill

Land Acquisituion Bill

The process of land acquisition has proven unpopular among the citizenry. The bill was opposed by not only the opposition but also the allies of NDA. Strong opposition with regard to some of the clauses mentioned in the bill stopped the passage of the bill twice this year. At present, the bill as been referred to 20 a member joint Parliamentary Panel, who will seek opinions from every stakeholder involved.
