Deadliest Terrorist Attacks That Rocked India in Recent Times

Bangalore: There is no place/state left in India where the activities of terrorism haven’t laid its hands. Out of such terrific acts, many lives have been lost, many have been left homeless and most importantly it hinders the development of the country. The most recent bomb blast in one of the crowded areas in Assam has once again created havoc and scarred the minds of people yet again. 1. Mumbai Terrorist Attack

Mumbai, which is the terror sensitive commercial capital of India, has faced several terror attacks. The terrorist attack of 26th November 2008 is considered as the most intricately planned terrorist attack in recent years. The attacks included 11 coordinated shooting and bombing across various important places in Mumbai like the Taj hotel, the Oberoi Trident, Chhatrapati Shivaji Station, Leopald Café, Nariman House, Cama Hospital, and Metro Cinema.

This inhuman act took away the lives of 209 people and injured over 700 masses. It was masterminded and carried out by highly trained and well equipped terrorists of Lashkar-e-Taiba and Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI). The faceoff between the terrorists and the military personnel lasted for over three days and came to an end on 29^th November. The entire world was united in shock and grief and condemned this act of terrorism. Ajmal Kasab who was the lone terrorist survivor was finally executed at Yerwada Jail in Pune on 21 November 2012.
