DMICDC Logistics Data Services Operations to Reach Kamarajar Port
DMICDC Logistics Data Services launches its container tracking service at Kamarajar Port making its ambit services to 16 ports. This launch is the initial step of expanding the service across the country's southern corridor.
DLDS's flagship solution, Logistic Data Bank (LDB) is a single-window container tracking solution. This solution is launched with the intention to improve the operations in Indian container logistics. In 2016, the company initiated its operations in the western corridor at the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT). In 2017, the company further extended its service to Hazira and Mundra ports of Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ).
Since November 2018, the LDB operations were extended at India's south-eastern corridor. This service covers the ports of Chennai, Krishnapatnam and Visakhapatnam with its ICT-based services. Furthermore, LDB has also extended its operations to kolkata- Haldia Ports, New Mangalore Port, Cochin Port, V.O. Chidambaranar Port, Deendayal Port, Adani Kattupalli Port, Paradip Port and Mormugoa Port.
With the latest inclusion of kamarajar Port at Ennore, Chennai, LDB's ICT-based services have become operational across 25 port terminals of India. Extending DLDS' services to the Kamarajar Port is an extensive milestone in simplifying operations in the country's huge container logistics sector.
At present, LDB manages about 96 percent of India's container. Further, the extension of LDB's services at Kamarajar Port follows a milestone of 21 million EXIM containers tracked by its single-window interface. The DLDS container tracking solution has majorly benefitted various stakeholders in the supply chain operations, by considerably minimizing the port dwell time and the overall transportation time for import and export of shipments.
