Corruption in Politics: A Mockery of a Bureaucrat's Noble Task

Bangalore: In the pre-independence era in India, the so called ‘politics’ or the ‘politicians’ were always associated with courage that would go to any extent to safeguard their countrymen from the clutches of brutality. However, the present day leaders are seem to be on the other end of the spectrum and are ready to pull down anyone who comes in their way or in their acts of corruption.

The most recent case of the young IAS officer, Durga Shakti Nagpal, the Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Gautam Budh Nagar, has taken the nation by a shock. Durga was allegedly suspended by the UP government in retaliation for taking up action against corruption and for initiating a massive drive against illegal sand mining mafia within her jurisdiction. This incident has definitely shaken the conscience of all right thinking citizens of this nation, reported E A S Sarma for Times of India.
