Aparup Sengupta Is The New Executive Chairman and Global CEO of Startek

Startek makes chairman Sengupta its CEO; replaces current CEO Lance Rosenzwieg who is stepping down for other opportunities.

FREMONT, CA: Startek, a global provider of customer experience management solutions, has selected Aparup Sengupta as executive chairman and global chief executive officer. He started his duties from January 15, 2020. Sengupta succeeded Lance Rosenzweig, who is stepping down from his role as president and global CEO. Across 54 delivery campuses, Startek has over 45,000 outsourcing experts, and they are committed to deliver transformative customer experience for clients.

Sengupta has more than two decades of executive experience in the BPO and telecommunications industry. He has also served Startek as chairman of the board of directors since the business combination with Aegis on July 20, 2018. Sengupta is also serving as an operating partner of Capital Square Partners (CSP), a Singapore-based private equity firm and majority shareholder of Startek.

Earlier he was working for The Minacs Group, as the executive chairman, prior to that, he served as global CEO and managing director for Aegis for more than eight years. He worked for Aegis from 2005 to 2012 where he led the company’s transformation. And in less than seven years, he grew annual revenue from $60 million to more than $850 million.

Executive chairman and global CEO of Startek Aparup Sengupta says that since the Startek and Aegis combination in 2018, their team has created an exceptional global platform to serve their clients with differentiated customer experience solutions. He also added that they have executed on multiple vital initiatives, including the realization of cost synergies and diversifying our revenue and client base with a focus on high-growth verticals. These initiatives have led to record results in recent quarters. He is also looking forward to leading Startek into its next evolution in 2020.

Sengupta pursued a bachelor’s degree in Engineering from Bengal Engineering and Science University. He has also attended a number of management leadership programs at Xavier School of Management, Indian Institute of Management, and University of Portsmouth.
