AIM's 11th Edition of Bengaluru International Arts Festival (BIAF) Kicks off on 22nd September

Bengaluru’s largest acclaimed festival, Bengaluru International Arts Festival (BIAF) is all set to enter its 11^th year of celebration, epitomizing ‘Celebration of Harmony through Arts’. Well known for thought provoking and art presentations by artists from India and all over the world, BIAF is nine day global art phenomena spanning over eight venues across the city with an aim to spread the message of harmony through art. This free entry for all event will commence on 22^nd September, at Allama Kalashale, Magadi Road, at the NICE Road junction after a brief inauguration function.

Dr. Suma Sudhindra, Director, BIAF, says, “BIAF was conceived & envisaged keeping in mind the need for an International flavor to the Arts Festival in our country. Over the last ten years we have built this large scale festival, which is recognized as one of the top annual global festivals today. Artists from over 25 countries have performed at our festival. The support of the people of Bengaluru is vital to keep festivals like BIAF alive and they have been magnanimous all these years. I once again take this opportunity to invite the citizens of our city to come & enjoy the wonderful performances from across the globe over the next three weekends”.

The highly anticipated event will be having more than 1500 artists that includes music and dance troupes from countries like Sri Lanka, Japan, and Austria showcasing their respective cultural forms.  The program will also feature Indian art expertise like the Panthi folk dance, Gujrati folk dance, Kuchipudi dance, Yoga classes, Diwari folk dances, Odissi folk dance and many more.

Dr. Veena Murthy Vijay, Director, BIAF, says, “All these 10 years, we have been successful in making Bengaluru an international destination for arts festivals. We thank Ministry of Culture and other corporates that have had faith in us and have continued to sponsor all these years.  The power of the arts which brings harmony across the world has encouraged us to conduct Bengaluru International Arts Festival relentlessly, thus establishing BIAF as an annual global festival for the 11^th year.”

Since its inception in 2003, AIM (Artistes’ Introspective Movement) has carried on projects and festivals in the field of Dance, Music, theatre & arts by various world renowned artists. It also runs a ‘Go Green’ campaign which is one of the social awareness programs trying to improve the garden city’s environment and limit pollution levels. AIM has successfully hosted the past 10 editions of the BIAF and other than providing platform for the artists, it also reaches out to different localities of Bengaluru to spread the glory of fine arts.
