Special Protection Group (SPG): Formed in the year 1988 to provide security to Prime Minister, ex PMs and their family members. Members of SPG are taken from Central Armed Police Force and Railway Protection Force but the governing body is Cabinet secretariat. The group is divided into three wings communication wing, technical and transport wing to take care of the protection deities. As per SPG Act, 1988, members of the group are not allowed to contact any media personals and collaborating in any kind of publications.
