6 Best Initiatives Taken Up By Modi Government
BENGALURU: Modi government has being doing some interesting transformation, to show the former government that they couldn’t have done it better. Here are some best things that the Modi government has done so far. Remember, this is not about the BJP or Modi the politician. It is about Team Modi as administrators, which is what they’re there for, according to sify.com.
Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (Clean India Campaign):
According to some, this might be a masterstroke from Modi, as it connects him with Mahatma Gandhi in public memory and it gives an unhygienic Indians something to act on. Filth is a prime issue in India and Modi has given it the primacy it needed. There is, however, a tendency to misread daily hygiene, such as—sweeping, mopping, dusting, and washing to help improve thoughts and actions within daily routine.
Straight Talk with China and Pakistan:
One of the most intensified and border tensions to India are China and Pakistan. Such instances include like when China showed its anger in September when President Xi Jinping visited India. Chinese troops had camped in Ladakh as Modi hosted Jinping but still India kept its cool. The Modi government also spoke straight with Pakistan, but that was done by previous governments as well. It’s the China’s line that is worthy of a recognition.
9am to be the Start as Workday:
Modi started his statement by saying everyone has achieved greatness by starting their day early. In this regard with all the working professionals and government employees to start their work early, the result would be better productivity. Urban development minister Venkaiah Naidu and environment minister Prakash Javadekar, for instance, found on inspection many staff members not in office even by 11am, which is a very sad state.
Separate Schools for the Talented:
This is another topnotch move from Smriti Irani that puts the focus on talent. In the past, governments have worked on a concept of model schools. The idea was to have better schools for brighter children. Irani’s proposal shifts the focus from schools as a model to students with talent. The idea is to have special schools to churn out winners.
This has got entangled in the kind of red tape that seems to infuriate Modi. Perhaps he could give this some attention. India is loaded with talent. We just don’t know how to shape it.
Saturday to be a Sports Day in School:
India is not known for its sports superpower, as parents tend to look down on sport, encouraging children to focus on the non-physical. India speaks of engineers, doctors, politicians, lawyers, journalists and business administrators, but never of sportsmen. This robs the country of A-list status at sport in contrast to the U.S., Russia, China, Japan, the UK and Germany. These all are powerful nations at geopolitics and sports. Lack of sports activity also hurts fitness levels of Indians.
Midday Meals to Include Butter Milk at Schools:
The Mid-Day Meal Scheme is the largest school feeding scheme in the world. K Kamaraj, the last of the Congress titans in Tamil Nadu began this in the late 1960s, when he was a chief minister. In 1995, the union government extended this scheme across India but it had to wait until 2014 for Smriti Irani, the youngest of Modi’s cabinet ministers, to propose that buttermilk be added to the menu.
At the moment, the midday meal scheme caters to 11 crore (110 million) children in 12 lakh (1.2 million) schools.
