Gandhi Memorial Museum

Gandhi Memorial Museum also known as Sabarmati Ashram was inaugurated on 10th May, 1963, by India’s first Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlala Nehru. It is located in suburb of Ahmadabad, which consists of three galleries. This museum exhibits thousands of letters received and sent by Gandhi, his photographs gallery and books on Gandhi’s life, work and teaching. This Museum in order keep Gandhi’s preaching alive carries out certain activities like collecting and displaying various remains of Gandhi such as paintings, photographs, literature and more. Furthermore, the museum conducts exhibition and communication with youth and students and supports them in their research on Gandhi’s life.
