Bonda
An indigenous language spoken in Odisha, Bonda just have around 2,568 speakers. It belongs to the Southern subgroup of the Munda branch of the Austroasiatic language family. Bonda is said to be part of the Gutob-Remo branch and is believed to be a spoken language with no traditional written system recorded. Derived from the Bonda Highlanders, which is an indigenous group located in Odisha, Bonda people call themselves as ‘Remo’ meaning ‘human’ and their language as the human language. The language follows a subject, object and verb sequence and Bonda language stresses on the last syllable in the word.
