'#100Women' Initiative Acknowledging Women Who Make A Difference

BENGALURU: In collaboration with Facebook, Union Ministry of Women and Child Development (MWCD) has started a ‘#100Women’ Initiative that focuses on acknowledging women who make a difference in their respective communities or nationwide. The initiative is a contest where the public nominates the women achievers via social media, reports DNAIndia.
In association the Union Minister for Women and child Development, Smt. Maneka Sanjay Gandhi said, “We have all had women in our lives who’ve made a difference, who have changed the course of our own lives, who’ve left a mark on the entire community and changed it for the better. We don’t thank them enough. Here is your chance to honor the women who have made a difference to your community. Log on to the Facebook Page of the Ministry of Women and Child Development, share a video with us on why the woman you choose should be honored as India’s 100 most impactful Women.”
The nominations shall begin from Wednesday, July 15 2015, where people can complete the nomination form by posting a video or picture of the person in action in their community, by visiting the Ministry's Facebook Page. Nominations are open until September 30, 2015. Top 200 nominations will be short-listed by the esteemed jury and the voting for the same shall start from November 7, 2015.
In December 2015, the winners will be announced and will be invited to join the reception organized by the Ministry for or around Republic Day.
