10 Super Rich Candidates Contesting 16th Lok Sabha Election

Naveen Jindal: Industrialist and Congress MP from Kurukshetra, Naveen Jindal is one of the wealthiest candidates in the upcoming polls. He and his wife Shaalu have declared assets worth nearly 300 crore. The sitting MP declared his movable and immovable assets amount to 288.13 crore and 8.89 crore, respectively.

An MBA from University of Texas at Dallas in the USA, Jindal declared his bank deposits and share investments amounting to 6.13 crore and 143.88 crore respectively. The HUF has bank deposits of 2.58 crore and investments in shares and bonds of 60.44 crore. His wife Shaalu Jindal has bank deposits and bonds worth 8.07 crore and 42.42 lakh respectively. Jindal and his wife own jewelry worth 6.05 crore and 3.68 crore respectively.

H D Kumarawamy: Former Karnataka’s Chief Minister H D Kumarawamy who declared a wealth worth 190 crore comes up in this list too. Besides extensive bank deposits of 13.77 crore in his name alone, his wife Anitha and son Nikhil have declared deposits of 3.18 lakh and 1.53 lakh respectively. This former chief minister and his family’s penchant for gold jewellery is unparalleled— Kumaraswamy declared 750 gms of gold, against 1.3 kg of jewellery with his wife and 850 gms with his son. Interestingly, the family has not mentioned a single car in their list of assets.
