9. Joan of Arc:

Joan of Arc, a Roman Catholic saint was another victim of heresy. The Trial of Joan of Arc that took place before an English-backed church court at Rouen, France in the first half of the year 1431 was one of the most famous trials in history. T It is the trial that execute a person known to history as Joan of Arc, the young French peasant girl. The trial verdict was later reversed on appeal by the Inquisitor-General in 1456, thereby totally exonerating her. She is today known as a French national martyr.

10. Charles I of England:

Charles I was the king of Great Britain and Ireland whose authoritarian rule and quarrels with Parliament provoked a civil war. He was the first monarch to be put on trial for treason that later led to his execution. He was accused of being a tyrant, traitor, murderer and cruel enemy to the Commonwealth of England. His execution is one of the most famous in England's history and also the most controversial one as there was no law that could legally overthrow a monarch during those days. But afterwards, a revolutionary tribunal was created. So, he was brought to trial in 1649 at the command of Oliver Cromwell and his Parliamentarians. These were the men whom the king had waged civil war to deprive him of his often-misused royal power. The trial at last declared Charles as a traitor and a tyrant; he was beheaded in front of the banqueting hall of his own palace, before a crowd of thousands. He was one such perpetrator in the World’s history who rightly got the deserved punishment.
