Francesco Totti
Totti can be said as one of the best no.10s the game of football has ever produced and that stands tall till date. Even as a kid, he refused a lucrative offer to join AC Milan and instead stayed with his hometown club. Totti who is the master of long-distance goals, pinpoint passes and the chip is surely one of the players the ISL is excited to see.
Even though he’s back in terms with the club he always loved, Chelsea, the big tall striker doesn’t seem to be happy for whatever reasons. So with the Indian Super League just taking off we might just see the Ivory Coast player here. At his day, Didier Drogba is the man who certainly can’t be ignored as he can take away the game with his strong and agile movement, which is a great treat to watch. A true menace to defenders of all vintages, even an ageing Drogba would light up the ISL for sure.
Gianluigi Buffon
Often described as the greatest goalkeeper of this generation, Buffon is the player to watch out for.
Known for his record breaking clean sheets, the Italian goalkeeper is unbeatable and outstanding shot-stopping goalie, who gives more confidence for the defense with his vocal defense organization, which is a key to a game.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic exclaimed that, “The best goalkeeper I have ever faced was Buffon. When I was at Juventus, it was already difficult to get past Cannavaro and Thuram in defence during training sessions. If I managed to get past them, then I would find Buffon, and it was almost impossible to beat him.”
