Fiber Optics

Indian-born American physicist Narinder Singh Kapany, is the pioneer of Fiber Optics technology. This is the applied science and engineering that revolves around optical fibers is known as fiber optics. He is widely known as the ‘Father of Fiber Optics’ and also earned the title as one of the seven 'Unsung Heroes' by Fortune magazine in their 'Businessmen of the Century'.

Radio/Wireless communication

It is an established fact that Marconi obtained a Nobel Prize in Physics in 1909 for his involvement to the improvement of wireless telegraphy. Nonetheless, it is recorded in 1895 that Sir Jagdish Chandra Bose was the first to publicly exhibit radio waves for communication. This event had taken place two years before Marconi had showcased a similar exhibition in England.
