Uruguay:
Uruguay records for an estimated total number of guns held by civilians which is 1,100,000. The rate of private gun ownership in Uruguay is 31.8. The country records for 13.63 registered firearms per 100 people and has 450,000 registered guns. In Uruguay, the law demands that a record of the acquisition, possession and transfer of each privately held firearm be retained in an official register.

Sweden:
Sweden rounds off the tenth place on the list. The anticipated total number of guns held by civilians in Sweden is 2,800,000, while the rate of private gun ownership is 31.6. Further, there are estimated to be 44.51 illicit firearms per 100 people in the country. Sweden, as a member of the European Union is bound by the provisions of the ‘EU Firearms Directive’ – the 2007 Legislative Resolution on Control of the Acquisition and Possession of Weapons of the European Parliament.
