10 Incredible Things Innovated By Women

Invisible lensInvisible Lens:

Katherine Blodgett, the first woman to be awarded with PhD in Physics from the prestigious University of Cambridge. She created the ‘invisible glass’ which is used in eyeglasses, microscopes, telescopes, and camera and projector lenses. She devised a method to spread monomolecular coatings, the thin films which naturally reduced the glare on reflective surfaces this resulted in world’s first 100 percent transparent or invisible glass.

Dishwasher:

A woman knows the kitchen best. True that. Since there was no one to invent such a useful kitchen ware, Josephine Cochrane made built one herself. She kept track of the long hours that her servants spent just on washing the dishes, hence realized the need for a dishwasher. She first measured the dishes, built wire compartments, each specially designed for plates, cups or saucers. She then placed these compartments inside a wheel that lay flat in the copper boiler. A motor turned the wheel while hot soapy water jet up from the bottom of the boiler and rained down on the dishes. Thus came in the first ever dishwasher. Thanks to Josephine.
