Summer Olympics 2012, started from 27 July and will end by 12 August. Here are the top 10 countries which have the most number of gold medals with them. Unfortunately India couldn’t make any position in this list.

1. United States

Number of Gold Medals: 894

United States is the leading gold medal winning country. It is ranked at the top with 894 gold medals. It would be easier to say what sports the USA isn’t good at! They dominate in so many events; from athletics to swimming, shooting, diving, boxing, basketball and gymnastics. Spirited and creative, the U.S. women's football team won its third straight Olympic gold medal, beating Japan by 2-1 in the finals. The United States Olympic Committee sent a total of 530 athletes to the event, 269 women and 261 men, to compete in 25 sports.

Number of Gold Medals: 189

United Kingdom is hosting the summer Olympics of 2012. It is the only nation which has participated in the 26 games of Olympics championship. U.K. has the highest number of participants playing in Olympics than any other country that is 541. They have participated in almost every game event.
