Bangalore: N R Narayana Murthy Infosys chairman emeritus told that he had no presidential aspirations, reports TNN.
While questioned regarding the TV statement credited to him becoming the President, he said it was simple conjecture and anyways it was decided by others and not by him.
When pushed further and asked by the television channel whether he would be in agreement to the post if there was a broad political accord with everybody wanting him to accept that position, he replied that "it would be an honour".
Murthy retired as Infosys chairman on August 20 this year. Of late, his remark about the poor quality of students entering the Indian Institutes of Technology had triggered a row. He was speaking about the need to restore the admission procedure to the prominent institutions.
