Pakistani Actors Call Indian Media 'Agitator' for 'Spreading Hate' after Pahalgam Attack

The Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed the lives of 26 civilians, has profoundly impacted the nation. This tragic incident has drawn condemnation not only from Bollywood celebrities but also from Pakistani actors. Notably, popular Pakistani stars Farhan Saeed and Sabeena Farooq have criticized the Indian media for allegedly "spreading hate."

Farhan Saeed Critiques Indian Media Coverage

On Friday, Farhan Saeed took to social media to express his discontent with how the Indian media has covered the Pahalgam attack. He stated, "While the events in pahalgam are indeed tragic, it is disheartening to witness the Indian media, which often acts irresponsibly and provocatively. This isn't the first instance, and I doubt it will be the last. For the sake of TRPs, they will say anything, and if, God forbid, tensions escalate between our two countries, it will be the people who suffer! They need to act responsibly!"

Sabeena Farooq Calls for Empathy

Sabeena Farooq, Farhan's co-star from Suno Chanda, also voiced her concerns about the media's role in spreading hate. On Instagram, she wrote, "Whether it's Palestine or Pahalgam, innocent lives have been lost in front of their loved ones, and homes have been destroyed. Those who have died are gone, and the survivors will endure daily suffering. We cannot fathom the pain they are experiencing. I urge Pakistani social media to recognize that not everything is a joke. Show some empathy. And to the Indian media, please refrain from spreading hate and brainwashing the public. Exercise some responsibility. Not every crisis should be seen as an opportunity."

Background on the Actors

For context, Farhan Saeed is a prominent actor in Pakistan with a significant following in India, thanks to his roles in shows like Suno Chanda, Mere Humsafar, and Mere Ajnabi. He also contributed his voice to the song "Thodi Der" in the film Half Girlfriend, featuring Arjun Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor. Sabeena Farooq is also a well-known figure in the Pakistani entertainment industry, recognized for her performances in popular series such as Suno Chanda, Tere Bin, Kabuli Pulao, and Mann Jogi.

In addition to Farhan and Sabeena, several other Pakistani actors, including Hania Aamir, Mawra Hocane, Mahira Khan, and Fawad Khan, have expressed their sorrow over the Pahalgam terror attack. The incident, which occurred on Tuesday, April 22, has incited outrage among Indian citizens, who are calling for stringent action against those responsible for the deaths of innocent tourists in Pahalgam. Prime Minister Modi even cut short his official trip to Saudi Arabia upon learning of the attack.
