Khayyam: A True Musical Master-Class
In Ankhon Ki Masti Ke (Umrao Jaan – 1981)
This Ghazal Hindi song from the Indian film Umrao Jaan became very popular during the 1980s as it was picturised on Rekha and Farooq Sheikh. Khayyam received Filmfare Best Music Director Award and National Film Award for Best Music Direction for the movie. However, in 2017, the song was selected as the best song ever picturised on actor Farooq Sheikh by Times of India. Asha Bhosle also won National Film Award for Best Female Playback Singer for Umrao Jaan.
