Kannada Film Star, Puneeth Rajkumar Passes Away After Suffering Cardiac Arrest

Actor Puneeth Rajkumar passed away after suffering cardiac arrest. The Kannada film star was taken to Vikram hospital at 11.30 AM on Friday. He is presently in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). A group of doctors is constantly monitoring him and treating him.

“We are trying our best to treat him. His condition is serious. Can’t say anything as of now. His condition was bad when he was brought to the hospital. His treatment is on in ICU,” said Dr. Ranganath Nayak, Vikram Hospital, Bengaluru.

The 46-year-old actor complained of chest pain in the mornining while working out in his gym. Arounf 11:30 am, he was taken to a private hospital. He was later shifted to Vikram Hospital, a unit of Manipal Hospitals, as his condition deteriorated.

Fans broke down in tears outside Bengaluru’s Vikram Hospital where Kannada actor Puneeth Rajkumar is currently hospitalised after suffering a heart attack.

Puneeth is fondly called Appu by his fans. He is the youngest son of Kannada matinee idol Dr. Rajkumar and film producer Parvathamma Rajkumar.

The family hails from Chamarajanagar district. Puneeth has starred in over 29 Kannada films. He has appeared as a lead actor in a number of commercially successful films including Appu (2002), Abhi (2003), Veera Kannadiga (2004), Mourya (2004), Aakash (2005), Ajay (2006), Arasu (2007), Milana (2007), Vamshi (2008), Raam (2009), Jackie (2010), Hudugaru (2011), Raajakumara (2017), and Anjani Putra (2017).

Puneeth began his career as a child artist and even won the National Film Award for Best Child Artist for his performance in Bettada Hoovu in 1985. He won the Karnataka State Award for Best Child Artist for his performances in Chalisuva Modagalu and Yeradu Nakshatragalu.
