Aashram 4 to Mirzapur 3: Most Awaited Web Series Sequels 2023

OTT platforms have been the main source of entertainment for the last couple of years. The viewers have been treated with some mind-blowing web series over the past few years. Sequels of some of the most loved web series will arrive this year. From follow-up of crime thrillers that ended on a cliffhanger to much-anticipated fresh seasons of heartwarming dramas, a slew of  web series are set to return this year. Let’s have a look.

Aashram 4

One of the most loved and controversial web series in the Indian OTT space is Aashram. Starring Bobby Deol in the lead role, Prakash Jha’s directional received a tremendous response. Now, the fans are eagerly waiting for the next chapter.There are many web series coming on MX Player, which are also very popular, one of these popular web series. Mirzapur 3

This is a crime-based thriller web series. The theme of the web series always revolves around crime and the politics associated with it. Set in the heartland of UP,  Mirzapur is among the top-rated and most popular web series out there. Season 1 arrived in 2018, and season 2 was released in 2020. Soon after the premiere of the second season, the creators announced the third season. The filming has commenced and one can expect the next chapter to release by the end of 2022. From memes to reels, Kaleen Bhaiya, Guddu, Bablu and Munna of popular action drama Mirzapur went viral from the day the show dropped on the OTT platform. A power-obsessed man, Kaleen Bhaiya (Pankaj Tripathi) runs a carpet business in Mirzapur. He is also a mafia don who runs an illegal arms racket. He wants his son Munna (Divyenndu) to take over the business after him but the Pandit brothers — Guddu (Ali Fazal) and Bablu (Vikrant Massey) — pose a challenge. Helmed by Mihir Desai, Season 2 of Mirzapur (2021) ended with Guddu taking control of Mirzapur after injuring Kaleen and Munna in a fight. However, unbeknown to him, the real nemesis lurks in the shadows. 

Made in Heaven 2

In the new season, the wedding planners will back to plan new weddings, while enjoying and facing new challenges in their own lives. Arjun Mathur, Sobhita Dhulipala, Jim Sarbh, Shashank Arora, Kalki Koechlin, and Shivani Raghuvanshi are returning cast members. Made in Heaven was also praised for its sensitive portrayal of the LGBTQIA+ community and its strong female characters. Season 1 ended with Tara walking out of her marriage to Adil (Jim Sarbh), after having set her sights on him as a dream catch and then realising the web of deception she had created to make the marriage work. Tara’s decision is going to have a huge effect on her career as well as her friendship with Faiza (Kalki Koechlin), with whom Adil has been having an affair. On the other hand, Karan comes to terms with his sexuality and reunites with his childhood sweetheart.

The Family Man  3

Season 1 of The Family Man debuted in 2019 followed the season 2 in 2021. After the glorious success of the first two seasons, Amazon Prime Video has renewed the spy thriller for the third season. As per the reports, the third season will be linked to the COVID-19 pandemic. All the lead cast members will return for the next chapter. Season 3 is expected to premiere in this year.

Asur  2

Starring Arshad Warsi and Barun Sobti, Asur is a crime thriller that combines Hindu mythology with forensic science seamlessly. Touted as the first season of India’s first mythological thriller ‘Asur’ received a positive response. It is one of the top-rated Indian web series with an IMDb score of 8.4.

Panchayat  3

Starring Jitendra Kumar, Raghuveer Yadav, and Neena Gupta, Panchayat is a comic-drama series that showcases the journey of an engineering graduate. The simplicity and relatable storyline make this light-hearted series a must-watch family entertainer.

Rocket Boys 2

The second season of Sony LIV’s critically acclaimed biographical drama series will premiere in 2023. Starring Jim Sarbh and Ishwak Singh, the series is based on the lives of Homi J. Bhabha and Vikram Sarabhai.

Paatal Lok  2

In the next season of Paatal Lok, Hathi Ram continues the quest that takes him back to the netherworld. While Jaideep Ahlawat is definitely returning, there is no update on the other cast members. Created by Sudip Sharma, Paatal Lok season 2 is a production of Clean Slate Filmz.
