Even though streaming services are a big option for the Indian movie lovers, but still people come to theatres provided they get the right cinematic feeling. Also, the smaller budget films are doing extremely well according to the experts. For the working population, cinema is right now the only escape to get rid of the stressful reality of life, as all the other business had a dull year.   1. War (474.71cr)

Casting the country’s dynamic-duo (Hrithik Roshan – Tiger Shroff) together, War tops the charts grabbing the most revenue of all the Indian movies in the past year with 474.71cr. Both delivering the best of action spectacles, with a firm script and thrilling screenplay, it deserves to be the best movie of the year in India.

Filmed simultaneously in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu, Saaho is another action thriller that shone in 2019. The high-octane action sequences and visuals were absolutely stunning and it is one of the most expensive Indian films ever produced.

  1. Kabir Singh (379.02cr)

Probably, this monstrosity story is one of the misogynistic Indian films for a long time. Shahid Kapoor played the role of a hero who is a bully, an abuser, an insensitive hooligan, a foulmouthed hothead who is an excellent surgeon by profession, but an alcoholic.

  1. Uri: The Surgical Strike (359.73cr)

This film which is a dramatised account of the retaliation to the 2016 Uri attack and it followed Major Vihaan Singh Shergill’s role who led the events. Released earlier this year, it created a huge impact in the audiences’ heart.

Portray the story of a family that makes an arduous journey to freedom at the cusp of India’s birth as an Independence nation. This Salman Khan action–drama movie was directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, with a cast of Katrina Kaif, Sunil Grover and Tabu as well.

According to a recent report by online ticket booking platform BookMyShow, the demand for Hindi movies grew by 25 percent from last year, while demand for Malayalam movies rose 108 percent and English movies saw a 45 percent growth. Akshay Kumar and Ayushmann Khurrana had an amazing year with three films each and with former collecting 9.2mn tickers and the latter with 6.3mn.
