Movies in Limelight at Cannes 2016


BENGALURU: 69th Cannes Film Festival is being held from 11-22 May this year and the buzz is all about the movies that will be screened throughout the competition, as reported by Firstpost. The director of Cannes Fest 2016 —Thierry Fermaux—has listed start-studded movies, renowned filmmakers’ prestigious works along with short, obscure cinema at this fest.

The jury head of 69th Cannes is director George Miller accompanied by Kirsten Dunst, Donald Sutherland, Vanessa Paradis, ‘Hannibal’ star Mads Mikkelsen, Katayoon Shahabi, Laslo Nemes, Arnaud Desplechin, and Valeria Golino.

Below is the list of movies that will be dominating 69th Cannes Film Festival.

 1. The BFG by Steven Spielberg

An upcoming American fantasy adventure movie—The BFG is co-produced and directed Steven Spielberg. The picture is based on the novel of the same name written by Roald Dahl. The story revolves around a large elderly friendly giant who kidnaps an orphan girl for being companion in his loneliness and also help him in freeing the world from evil giants. Mark Rylance is playing the role of Big Friendly Giant while Ruby Barnhill stars as orphan Sophie.
