Manish Malhotra Displays Ethnic Indian Wear at LFW Curtain Raiser

Mumbai: Designer Manish Malhotra showcased his ethnic Indian collections at the curtain-raiser for the Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2013.

He showcased the traditional Indian outfits that include saris, ghaghra cholis, skirts among others. The designer had used lots of pastel greens, pink, and cream along with mirror works.

The substitute for ghaghra with sahara pants and fitted tops was elegant and neat. The ghaghra pants and skirts had detailed embroidery work towards the hemline. The saris and ghaghra cholis had a lot of embellishment and blings that added grace and style to the attire.

With a blend of silk, nets and georgettes, Malhotra played with different collars and cuts that gave the clothes an interesting look. Unlike other shows, this time two models were simultaneously walking in a ramp with similar colour schemes.

Malhotra also showcased men's wear that includes smart pants, kurtas, dhotis among others.

From the film fraternity Karan Johar, Lara Dutta, and Jacqueline Fernandes among others made their presence at the show.

The fashion week will be on Aug 23-27 at the Grand Hyatt here.
