Lights! Camera! Action: The 10 Films Funded Entirely By Audience

Bronies: The Extremely Unexpected Fans of My Little Pony
Adult males obsessed with a cartoon for little girls?  Well this seems like something that would make many people uncomfortable, but the harsh truth is that  this documentary was made and financed in 2012 by people who were fans of the show, and thus it doesn’t attempt to wring any freak show appeal out of the subject matter.

The film, funded through crowd-sourcing via Kickstarter, was originally envisioned to follow voice actor and executive producer John de Lancie to the 2012 Summer BronyCon in New Jersey. The project raised much more than anticipated, allowing it to grow in scope. So if you’re curious about watching it, you’re probably nerdy enough to appreciate one of its big selling points: animated sequences voiced by John de Lancie of Star Trek fame.
