Bollywood on a Cruise

BENGALURU: One of the largest centers of film production in the world and one of the biggest film industries in the world–in terms of people employed and films produced– Bollywood is the cognomen for the Hindi language film industry based in Mumbai.

Bollywood is known for its trend setting and new ideas which it executes into its movies. The industry showcases a wide range of favorite international destinations in the films and also the songs in them. Moreover, there are a few movies which kick in nostalgia by taking us back in time.

Taking creativity to another level and walking down an untaken path, few directors of Bollywood decided to shoot their movies on lavish cruise ships, which is definitely not a cakewalk.

From Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai to Dil Dhadakne Do, let’s take a look at films which had a major portion shot on cruises.

Mann (1999)

Directed by Indra Kumar, Mann is a story about Karan Dev Singh, played by Aamir Khan and Priya Verma, played by Manisha Koirala, who are supposed to get married to their prospective partners(who are on the cruise as well). Before this could happen, Karan– a flirt crosses path with Priya on the cruise that hails from Singapore to India. They encounter, exchange blows, later they befriend each other and eventually fall in love. When it’s time for departure, they decide to live their lives without communicating and meet after one year on Valentine’s Day and get married.

A musical treat with few dance moves– ‘Nasha ye pyar ka nasha hai’ is also shot on the cruise, wherein Aamir Khan tries to woo Manisha.

Wonder what happens to their former prospective partners?
