BANGALORE: Beating the records of "Heropanti", "Main Tera Hero" and "Ragini MMS 2", Akshay Kumar’s "Holiday—A Soldier Is Never Off Duty" has crossed 50 crore mark, reports IBT.

According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the film sowed 7.03 crore by June 10th, making an overall 56.37 crore. This box office collection is the second highest of this year after Salman Khan's "Jai Ho".

"#JaiHo Wknd 60.68 cr, Mon 9.50 cr, Tue 7.30 cr, Wed 5.80 cr. Total:  83.28 cr nett. India biz only," tweeted Adarsh in January.

The film directed by AR Murugadoss is a remake of Tamil Movie ”Thuppaki” and features Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha in the lead roles accompanied by Govinda in a supporting role. Reportedly, the drop in the collection on the fifth day of release didn’t affect it negatively.

"Holiday's business picked up slowly over the weekend. It is now to be seen how it maintains its good run," stated exhibitor Rajesh Thadani
