Raj and Smiran have defined what falling in love and fighting for love is to an entire generation.  Mere Khawboon Mein Jo aaye, the Euro Rail, the Swiss Aps, the Sarson Ke keth in Punjab, to the strict father make us fall in love with the movie. No matter how many times you watch the movie you want to watch it again. In fact the movie is still running in a theater in Mumbai.

A simple girl Smiran meets playboy Raj on a trip and towards the end they relasise that they have fallen in love but they don’t tell each other. When Simran’s father comes to know about this he gets angry and  he returns to the village with his daughter to get her married to his childhood friend’s son.  Raj’s father makes him realize that he has fallen n love and he asks him to go and get his ‘Dulhan’. When Raj releases that Simran has left to Punjab for her wedding he follows her lal the way there and tries to win over the family and in the end love prevails and Raj does get his ‘dulhan’.

The father son relations, the strict father, the mother daughter relationship and finally Raj and Simran’s relations is something that has been etched in the pages of Indian Cinema and will remain in every generations mind forever and for always.
