IBM:

IBM cloud storage is a part of IBM’s SmartCloud provisions, which includes additional supportive features such as cloud-based application development and infrastructure.  IBM SmartCloud includes infrastructure as a service, software as a service and platform as a service offered through public, private and hybrid cloud delivery models. IBM places these offerings under three umbrellas: SmartCloud Foundation, SmartCloud Services and SmartCloud Solutions.

According to Gartner, the biggest problem for IBM cloud storage in enterprise space is its marketing strategy. Because IBM markets the cloud storage for backup and recovery, but those services don’t use IBM SmartCloud Object Storage facility. For that organizations have to rely upon Nirvanix, which IBM partners and delivers SmartCloud Object Storage. But Gartner expects IBM to become one of the major players in cloud storage because the ‘blues’ are still one of the best in selling products throughout the enterprise IT arena.
