SAS Dominates Advanced Analytics Market: IDC


Bangalore: Business analytics software and services provider SAS continues to hold 'commanding' market share in the global advanced analytics market, according to a report.

"SAS continues to dominate the advanced analytics segment with 36.2 per cent market share," research firm IDC said in the report titled 'Worldwide business analytics software 2013-2017 forecast and 2012 vendor shares.'

The report shows SAS' 2012 share in advanced analytics increased to 36.2 per cent from 35.3 per cent in 2011 and 34.9 per cent in 2010, outpacing growth of the overall advanced analytics market.

"Whether it is a midsize vacation rental company looking to optimize cost controls and improve customer satisfaction, or a multinational corporation analyzing risk or marketing campaigns, SAS Analytics offer a solid return on investment. The IDC vendor share report validates that," SAS Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer Jim Davis said.

In addition, IDC also ranks SAS among top five overall business analytics provider.

The report also names SAS among top five contenders in numerous sub-categories, like: query and reporting, content analytics, data warehouse generation, supply chain, services operations, CRM analytic applications, financial performance and strategy management.
