Chennai: Software services industry body NASSCOM said "newer geographies" are set to double their contribution to India to 20 per cent by 2020.

"Our services model will get change; we cannibalize the work we do ourselves. Things we did five years back, we do not do today and what new things we do will change in future. The drivers (to generate business) are from newer geographies", NASSCOM President Som Mittal told reporters.

Currently, the business generated from the US and Europe was almost 90 per cent, while 10 per cent came from the rest of the world.

"But, today the growth is happening in rest of the world. Asia Pacific, China, Africa and Latin America have seen growth. So, these are obviously the countries we are focusing on. I won't be surprised, if their business contribution increases to 20 per cent by 2020", he said.

Asked about the total volume of business India was likely to generate by 2020, he said, "what we expect by 2020 is about USD 225 billion from purely domestic and export services".

Commenting on the Digital Literacy Mission undertaken by NASSCOM, he said, they have trained about 1,400 people.

"We started digital literacy mission with help of partners like Intel. We have trained 1,400 people (so far) and one in every household is now digitally aware of how to leverage the connectivity. So, we are now partnering with the government saying there should be one digitally literate person in every family," he said.
