1. Network List
Make Over: Network list gets a facelift
Advantage: Better compatibility with new Metro look
The Windows 8 and Server 2012 have got a makeover in their network list. When you tap into the tray icon, a solid colored window pops out from the right that is horizontally similar to previous Windows version but is vertically larger.
2. Airplane Mode
Make Over: Disables all wireless connections when turned on
Advantage: Very useful for laptops and mobile devices
The network list has an airplane mode on the top that will disable all the wireless connections when switched on. However, the functionality of the network list remains the same with minor amends and improvements.
3. Additional Wireless Controls
Make Over: Right click on the network name will list additional control options
Advantage: Several features with increased user friendliness and customization
A right click on the network name will list you all the additional controls with the help of which you can enable data usage tracking, connection metering, delete saved passwords, and turn sharing on or off.
