Presently, Twitter is going all lengths to gear up for its long-awaited Initial Public Offering (IPO), which is reported to be launched by 2014. It is indeed an odd time for the reputed legal Counselor to step-down from an important position. But all reports state that Macgillivray’s decision to step-down has no other intention apart from being voluntary.

Vijaya Gadde, joined Twitter in 2011 as legal manager for the company’s corporate and international affairs and has deep experience in corporate and securities law and is expected to lead the legal team with similar grandeur. An alumnus of New York University School of Law and Cornell University, Gadde formerly worked as a senior director Associate General Counsel, Corporate at juniper Networks.

Currently, Twitter has over 200 million active users worldwide and is the second most actively used social network, next to Facebook.
