VMware's First Dedicated Cloud Offering; vCloud Suite

Bangalore: The master of virtualization, VMware announced a fully dedicated cloud operations suite named vCloud in the first week of October.

Despite being the king of virtualization software, VMware was not offering a completely dedicated cloud management product in the market before the launch of vCloud.

Though most of VMware’s offerings are related to the cloud-system the virtualization software manufacturer did not offer a unified control package for cloud software and cloud infrastructure. vCloud Suite is being marketed by VMware as the "software-defined data center."

Sighting the advancements in the field of cloud computing and the dominance of players like hello, Hyper-V, Xen, XenServer and KVM, VMware is being flexible its offering. One of the major changes in VMware policy the vCloud Suite will not restrict its users to its private or public clouds instead vCloud Suite can share its workload with a non-VMware public cloud, such as the Amazon Web Services.

The credit of VMware’s extended capability can be given to the recent acquisition of DynamicOps by VMware.
