Tips for Enterprises to Prepare and Dodge-off DDoS Attacks

Bangalore:  Every year security breaches have been of great annoyance to corporate and enterprises, and still it is. Today the world is facing cyber threats of all kinds and whatever be the end result, we keep on rejecting these factors at our peril. At present, enterprises are so vulnerable to criminal attacks that a new industry has developed within the criminal arena, primarily targeted against enterprise and its associated businesses.

So it’s pretty important that these enterprises should study and understand these types of attacks so that they can fend them off easily. So with that in mind, here are four strategies for your organizations to prepare and to defend against Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks in the future, as reported by CIO.com.

#1 Consider Over-Provisioning a Service in advance:

At present most of the enterprises built their networks under strict budgets. There is a trend on the rise as enterprises are starting to resist the financial overload by not paying for the unused capacity. Many companies scale their systems to match a predictable but legitimate peak, such as Black Friday, Cyber Monday or another annual peak load.

But in an DDoS attack, an enterprise network can be subjected to loads many times greater than even its highest peak activity—on the order of 10 or 20 times. Now this is where IT administrators have to get tricky enough to dodge the situation. The best way to do so is to get an internet service provider at hand who can provide additional amount of capacity during the attack. This can help the enterprise networks at times of overload.
