Red Hat to Debut Preview Version of Enterprise-Ready OpenStack Distribution



Bangalore: Red Hat, one of the leaders in open source solutions, announced their plans of debuting their enterprise ready open stack cloud framework in cloud platform. Even though the full version will be available only by early 2013, Red Hat already has uploaded a free preview edition of OpenStack distribution. This preview is to familiarize Red Hat’s beloved users with OpenStack- its deployment, feedback and to clarify the concerns related to it.

Red Hat, considered as the third largest contributor in OpenStack environment, also have signed on as a Platinum Member along with other tech giants like HP, Canonical, IBM, AT&T, Nebula, Rackspace, and SUSE, for the level of support along with $500,000 annual investment.

"Time-wise, the announcement makes a lot of sense," said Lauren Nelson, an analyst with Forrester, to Information Week in an interview. This announcement has clearly cemented Red Hat’s spot in OpenStack environment ahead of all other competitors. Others like Rackspace and Nebula have already started plans of catching up with Red Hat.

Organizations know that OpenStack is the next big thing in cloud platform as it’s considered as a potential alternative for Amazon’s Web Service, who now is the leader in the cloud technology. So with this launch, it’s pretty sure that a whole new group of vendors is all set to rush into this upcoming and emerging platform.
