Bangalore: Microsoft has launched its new social network friendly email service called Outlook.com. With the unofficial death of Hotmail.com, which was once considered to be the best in email service throughout the web, Microsoft’s latest mail service Outlook.com is all set to take on the current ‘hottest’ email service in town- that is Google’s Gmail.

According to Microsoft, Outlook.com is sharing hands with all leading social networks which include Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn. Microsoft also revealed its plans of incorporating their extremely popular video calling service- Skype, with Outlook.com.

This mail service will also integrate some of the hottest Microsoft services like Contacts, Calendar and the SkyDrive cloud storage service. Analysts predicts that Microsoft Outlook is all set to capture the corporate world, as it offers an unique capability of viewing documents from Word, Excel and PowerPoint directly. This can be viewed using a service called Office Web Apps which is the cloud version of these applications.
