Infosys Offers New Solution To Improve IT Infrastructure Efficiency

New Delhi: Aimed at tapping the $5 billion market, country's second-largest software firm Infosys today launched a new solution to help its customers test the readiness and performance of their IT infrastructure.
The offering comprises a range of services that span the entire infrastructure life cycle, from new hardware deployment and integration to migration and operations.
"Companies can use these services to comprehensively test and assure the business readiness and performance of their IT infrastructure during major changes such as datacenter consolidation and technology upgrades," Infosys Senior Vice President and Global Head of Business IT Services Chandrashekar Kakal said.
He added the opportunity in the segment is worth $ 5 billion, but didn't comment on the share the company is looking to grab.
The solution will be offered as a part of Infosys' infrastructure management and application testing services, which account for 15 per cent of company revenues.
"This solution is a differentiated offering. There is a growing need to validate, streamline and optimise underlying infrastructure and the solution will help enterprises scale up to meet the multi-dimensional complexity of their growing infrastructure and application portfolios," Kakal said.
According to industry estimates, the cost of data center downtime can range between $ 80,000 and $ 500,000 an hour for large enterprises.
"Infrastructure testing significantly helps reduce downtime and resulting costs," he said
