Facebook, Amazon All Set To Hire SDN Engineers

Bangalore: World?s largest online social networking company, Facebook and world?s largest online retail company, Amazon are to hire software-defined networking (SDN) engineers, as reported in their respective sites.

Software-defined networking (SDN) is an approach to building computer networks that separates and abstracts elements of these systems. SDN allows system administrators to quickly provision network connections on the fly instead of manually configuring policies. While this technology is quite hyped, only service providers and few enterprises are using it, and it was put on display at the Open Networking Summit last week. It was hosted by founders of SDN, to share and explore the key developments and deployments in the quickly-evolving world of OpenFlow/SDN.

?Facebook is actively seeking Software Developers to help build the next generation of our rapidly growing network infrastructure. We are looking for software engineers with an interest in Software Defined Networking (SDN). As a member of this small and growing team, you will be in charge of designing and implementing control plane systems for our network,? as posted on Facebook career page.
